Today I had the pleasure of fishing with a group of guys from New York and what a blast we had on the water catching a box of beautiful speckled trout and red fish. Today was a very special day on the water because one of the men in the group of ten guys that we took fishing is in stage four of pancreas cancer. It was on his bucket list to get his close social circle together and come down to Louisiana and book a inland speckled trout and red fish charter. When I got up this morning and came down stairs to ice the boat down and load up with rod-n-reels and all the other equipment that I would need for a trip I notice we had a stiff wind out of the north at about twenty miles per hour. I can tell you as a charter fishing guide and one who has high expectations for everyone who books a trip with me, this morning I was feeling a little pressure in regards to putting these folks on some fish due to the weather conditions. Never the less it was a three boat trip today with ten men and we pick then up from the log cabins and headed south towards Barataria Bay where we been catching some nice trout. Well the water was busted up a little with the north wind so we decided to get in the marsh in some protected canals.  I think the trout had the same thing in mind because we had a blast catching three boxes of fish between the three boats. Laughing and joking between the boats all morning long because we were close enough to talk back and forth as the day unfolded for us. Now that is what I call a great day on the water allowing this guy and his family and friends to enjoy a day like we had today.    bobs-red-fish
