Speckled Trout Fishing Charters South Of New Orleans Is Fantastic: What a fantastic time of the year to fish speckled trout and red fish here in the Lake Hermitage area. With the water temperature not cooling off because of the mild winter we have had so far, the speckled trout bite has been great during the entire fall season. Today I had the pleasure of fishing a couple of guys from Houston Texas and did they have a good day on the water. We started off this morning fishing for speckled trout in the interior bays and shallow lakes close to the cabins and ended up going out to the barrier islands next to the gulf to fish for some monster bull reds. Well the guys had a great time catching a box of speckled trout during the first two hours of the trip, however when we headed south to the barrier islands in search of some monster bull reds is when the fight of a life time happen. As you can see from the photo’s below we got on some oyster reefs right on the inside of the islands and found just what we were looking for. The guys caught and released bull reds until they just couldn’t reel another one in. We took a bunch of photo’s so they could show everyone back at the office how great the fishing charter was and couldn’t stop talking about booking another trip.
