I did not have a trip today, however I had many boats launch out of here and was fishing speckled trout and red fish in the Lake Hermitage area. This morning we had a light wind out of the north and the water clarity was good. Most of the boats came in this morning with limits of speckled trout. Most of the people was fishing with live shrimp three feet under a popping cork. We are now selling live shrimp here at the marina along with fuel and ice. The trout are running between twelve inches and sixteen inches as the bigger trout have not moved in yet. The cold front coming in this Saturday night should push the bigger trout in further in to our lake as the water temperature gets cooler. It is shaping up for a great month of December with the weather conditions. Normally the best month is November however this year with the warm fall we been having so far it looks like December will be the best month to fish the speckled trout. Remember fishing with the kids is truly what is all about. Building memories with the family is truly what this time of the year is for because you do not have to go out too far to find the fish. As the cooler weather moves in and the shrimp and other bait feed leave the fish will start to bite on soft plastic and that is when the fall season is at its best. Our log cabins are located right on the water and we have small boat rentals if you do not own your own boat so there is no reason why you should not come experience the outdoors at it best for the next eight weeks. We are located thirty five miles south of New Orleans right in the middle of some of the best salt water fishing in southeast Louisiana.
