Bayou Log Cabins Fishing Lodge is located thirty five miles south of New Orleans Louisiana. We have fore beautiful log cabins right on the bayou in the middle of a two hundred year old fishing village not far from some of the best speckled trout and red fish fishing in this area. We offer a verity of packages, if you have your own boat bring it and enjoy the many shallow duck ponds and pipe line canals we have close to the cabins. The red fish stay here year around and feed on the many different bait feeds we have that are native to this area. The speckled trout will migrate in from the barrier islands near the gulf of mexico during the fall fishing season and then will return to the barrier islands for the spring and summer fishing season. We also have black drum, flounder and many other salt water fish that you will have a great time catching. Now if you do not have your own boat we offer many different types of charter trips. To start off with we have day time speckled trout and red fish charters, late afternoon air boat swamp tours, night time air boat red fish bow fishing trips as well as night time flounder gigging trips. From the time you arrive until the time you leave we have a schedule that will surely keep you and your group busy with something to do all the time. I forgot to mention that we also offer small boat rentals if you just want to go out on a peaceful ride in one of our many lakes we have close to the fishing village. Entertaining families as well as corporate clients is what we pride ourselves on as our staff has been trained very well over twenty years to make sure we do everything possible to make you stay here at Bayou Log Cabins one of the most memorable vacations you ever had. I say all the time you can just about go anywhere and catch fish but it is the rest of the things we offer that will build great memories that will stay with you when you go back home and get back to your regular life that sets us apart from the rest of the fishing lodges. We understand here at Bayou Log Cabins Fishing Lodge that entertaining folks doesn’t stop when the fishing trip is over as there still maybe needs you will have as the rest of the day goes by.

Remember that January and February is the two months out of the year that the fishing is the hardest because of a few reasons. First of all the live shrimp has left for the gulf with the cold weather and will not return until sometime in April. The marine life has a way of repeating itself year after year. When the live shrimp leave for the winter the trout will for the most part leave with them. They will hang around for a month or so but it won’t take them long to figure out that the feed has left and they will group up and head out to the gulf as well. I always tell folks this is the time of the year that we do all our maintenance on our boats the cabins as well as any improvements we want to make on the property. If you have your own boat this is the time of the year you should change the oil on you motors and lower units, clean your reels, check all the eyes on your fishing rods and stock up on supplies in your tackle box. Remember April is right around the turn and the bite will be back on with a vengeance. You want to make sure you do everything possible not to have a break down during the spring and summer season. A very important part of being a good angler is to do your maintenance on all your equipment during the off season that way when it is time to get back on the water you will be ready for another year of fishing.
