Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Dr. John Moffatt and his family from New Orleans Louisiana. I picked them up from the cabins early this morning and headed south towards Barataria Bay where we been catching some nice speckled trout. We had a stiff wind out of the north at about fifteen miles per hour and a falling tide at almost one foot. Perfect conditions this time of the year to fish the inland waters around the cabins. The clarity of the water was beautiful today and the fish were hungry. We ended up in some pretty small canals to get out of the wind and ended up boxing up a ice chest full of nice speckled trout. His son manage to get a huge bull red in the boat for a photo section before we released him to fight another day. What a great time of the year to do some fishing before it starts getting real cold. Building memories with family and friends is truly what it is all about. The day goes by so fast because you are so busy pulling in the fish that you don’t realize you have your limit in the boat and it only nine o’clock in the morning. When arriving back at the log cabins they were nice enough to help me clean and bag up the fish for the ride home. We took a bunch of photos so they could show the rest of there family and friends when they got home.
