It looks like this fall speckled trout season is going to be one of the best we’ve had in about five years. The water temperature is holding just right the winds are light and the water clarity is perfect. The trout are in our lakes and duck ponds feeding on the shrimp that has not left yet and everybody is catching limits of trout the first two hours of just about every morning. I have people using my launch that has never fished here before and asking me where lake hermitage is and after telling them how to get there they are coming back with a ice chest of fish. All you need is a small flat boat to get to the strike zone where the trout are biting right now. If you don’t have a small flat boat we rent flat boats here at Bayou Log Cabins for you to use. Our boats come with a electric start four stroke Yamaha’s and are ready for you to go fishing with all the safety equipment needed for a safe fishing trip. We supply the fuel so all you have to bring is your fishing rod-n-reel and tackle box. I’ll even show you where to drop the anchor so you can enjoy yourself on a great fishing adventure. This fall season should last until sometime in January depending on how cold of a winter we have. When it gets real cold and the water gets low is when the trout will normally move out back to the gulf for safety of a freeze. Then the entire cycle will start over again with them starting to show up on the barrier islands around April and will repeat the process for the summer time fishing season. Lake Hermitage and Bayou Log Cabins fishing lodge has a great location for you to entertain you family or corporate clients and build memories while having a great time.
