Speckled Trout Fishing In Lake Hermitage Louisiana Is On Fire For The Fall Season: The speckled trout are starting to show up in the shallow lakes, duck ponds and dead end pipe line canals not far from Bayou Log Cabins. The speckled trout are starting to leave the barrier islands and oyster reefs near the gulf and beginning there transition in to the shallow waters for the fall of the year. I believe this is the best time of the year to fish for speckled trout because of a few reasons. First of all you do not have to deal with the high temperatures, and secondly all the shrimp are just about gone. This is the time of the year that the menu changes for speckled trout fishing. With the shrimp leaving for the fall and winter we began to fish with plastic baits. The speckled trout have much less to eat so they are more likely to eat what ever looks like something that will fill there belly.

October, November And December Is The Months For Speckled Trout: When the speckled trout began to stack up in the shallow lakes, duck ponds and pipe line canals for the fall season we do not have to travel far from the fishing village to our destination. With the water temperatures lowering and the lack of bait I find the trout get real aggressive. It is not uncommon for our clients to have a box of speckle trout   on ice just a few hours in to the trip. We often just let our customers catch and release once they catch there limit. It truly is a fishing trip you will not soon forget. Call and book one of our log cabins on the water and a speckled trout charter.
